Augustin Daniel Belliard ( Fontenay-le-Comte , 25 May 1769 -Brussels , 28 January 1832 ) was a French general and diplomat who played a key role in the development of the Belgian kingdom . In the Vendée Belliard was born during his studies in Poitou participant in the just broken French Revolution . He represented his native village of Fontenay-le-Comte in the Fête de la Fédération in Paris in 1790 , and then joined the army, the Armée du Nord under General Dumoriez. He reached there the officer status, and fought at the battles of Valmy, Jemappes and Neerwinden .   This object is part of "Scan The World".
