This is the funerary stele of Caius Valerius Diodorus. Within the clipeo two people are represented: on the left and seated a bearded man, wrapped in a cloak, in front of him and a young man dressed in tunic over which he bears the paenula or perhaps the sagum; with his left hand he holds a long roll. It is perhaps an episode of the life of the duo connected with his scholastic activity (the seated man and probably the father of the deceased).  Under the clipeo is the following epigraphic text: "To gay valerio diodoro, who lived eighteen years, gay valerius placid and valeria mirtale, his parents, (they put the monument) both for the son and for themselves.".
